NO. (2005 onwards fisheries are regulated by “Ecosystem-Based Fisheries Management- EBFM” as recommended both by the PEW Ocean Commission and US Ocean Commission).

Why deep-sea coral ecosystems are important priorities for conservation, protection and prudent management?


Answer Two:


These undersea habitats are home for commercially important fish species; vulnerable to trawling impact (physical damage), global warming (physiological effects) and change in chemistry of skeleton-building habitat-forming coral species (growth inhibition-mortality or extinction?).
